The Exorcist

Matt Milton's Review: The Exorcist is the story of a higher-order being attempting to enlighten a group of dull-witted flesh-creatures about the nature of God and reality, and to show them what frail, disgusting animals they truly are. I have, in fact, had the pleasure of meeting Pazuzu (the demon upon whose adventure this film is loosely based) on several occasions, and we had a terrible laugh together recently over Hollywood's conceits. It was also disappointing in that there was a perfect set-up for a cameo with D.C. Comics' Neron, but the character was not used, probably because of budget constraints.
Ed Phillips's Review: Yeah! "Let Jesus fuck you!" I want that on a bumper sticker! And damn, that kid is almost as messed up as Matt and Judith. Holy shit!!!
Judith Tolbert's Review: This movie is a crime drama starring Lee J. Cobb as the likeable but mysterious Detective William F. Kinderman. It is notable that both the author of the original novel and the director were named after this character. After a metaphorical journey through the childhood of Detective Kinderman, using other actors to portray the alienness of a young lawbringer's maturation process, we are introduced to the central story. In the film's pivotal scene, brilliantly acted by Cobb, Detective Kinderman expertly works the truth about a brutal murder out of a fiendishly clever actress who uses her own daughter's illness to cover the misdeeds of herself and her Swiss housekeeper/lover. I did think that some of the "demon" scenes were a little over-dramatized though, considering that this was only a ploy to distract Kinderman.
Grotuu the Unspeakable's Review: Grotuu is, of course, aware of what is being done here. The editors, in their continuing efforts to erode Grotuu's sanity, have chosen a movie which, while truly delightful, is much older than specified by Grotuu's new policy. Grotuu is not fooled. Also, the satirical drawings of Grotuu, left carved into the fungus cubicles, have not gone unnoticed.
